Fabric programme · Bamboo viscose

Bamboo viscose sleepwear, made by a factory that controls the shrinkage.

Bamboo is the easiest fabric to sell and the hardest to ship without complaints — it shrinks, it grows, and it pills if the finishing is skipped. We pre-shrink and compact every bamboo lot before cutting, and we hold finished garments to a 3% residual shrinkage at 40 °C. MOQ 100 sets per style and colour.

What we make

Bamboo viscose sleepwear styles

Jersey and woven programmes, cut in the same blocks we already run for cotton and modal — so grading and fit carry over.

Short-sleeve pyjama sets

180–200 GSM bamboo-spandex jersey, shorts or cropped pants, rib neckband and cuff. The core summer set for resort and gifting programmes.

Long-sleeve sets & nightdresses

220–240 GSM jersey for autumn and winter. Button-through nightdresses, piped plackets, side vents — the details that justify a premium price point.

Woven bamboo blends

Bamboo-cotton poplin and sateen for camp-collar and mandarin-collar sets — a woven hand-feel with the drape buyers expect from bamboo.

Fabric specification

What we actually put on the tech pack

Numbers you can check against a bulk test report, not marketing language.

Core quality
95/5 bamboo viscose / elastane single jersey, 180 / 200 / 220 / 240 GSM. 100% bamboo viscose jersey also available at 160–200 GSM for nightdresses.
Shrinkage control
Fabric is pre-shrunk and compacted before cutting; finished garments held to a maximum 3% residual shrinkage in length and width after three home washes at 40 °C.
Pilling & hand-feel
Enzyme bio-polishing to reach grade 4 on the Martindale pilling scale, with a peach or a smooth finish depending on your brief.
Colour & dyeing
Reactive dyeing to Pantone TCX. Colour fastness to washing grade 4, to perspiration grade 4, to light grade 4 — declared on the bulk test report.
Testing
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 type testing can be arranged per lot. Azo dyes, formaldehyde, pH and heavy metals tested on request.
Fibre naming
We produce both bamboo viscose and bamboo lyocell. Your care label states which one the fabric is — no blended claims, no greenwashing risk.

FAQ

Bamboo sleepwear questions buyers actually ask

100 sets per style per colour. Bamboo viscose is dyed to order, so a 100-set minimum keeps the dye lot economical without pushing you into a large first order.
Raw bamboo jersey can shrink 5–8% on the first wash. We pre-shrink and compact the fabric before cutting and hold finished garments to a maximum 3% residual shrinkage at 40 °C — measured, not assumed, on the bulk test report.
No. Bamboo viscose is spun via the viscose (rayon) route; bamboo lyocell uses a closed-loop solvent route. We make both and will state on your care label which one the fabric is, so your claims hold up.
180–200 GSM for summer shorts sets, camisoles and nightdresses; 220–240 GSM for long-sleeve autumn and winter sets. If you sell into both seasons, start at 200 GSM and split the range from there.
Counter samples in 7–14 working days; bulk in 35–45 days from order confirmation and approved sample. Shipping EXW Jiangyin or FOB Shanghai.
